I currently teach Earth Science at Bloomington High School. I enjoy working with the kids in my school and while there may be challenges there are many more rewards. I believe education and sport can work hand in hand to provide students an avenue to grow mentally and physically and reach their potential.
Cycling was a mainstay in my younger years. Whether riding to school, to work, a friend's house, or a family ride to the beach it gave me a feeling of freedom. Staying fit certainly wasn't on my mind when young (can't say that now) but it did keep me fit despite dealing with childhood Asthma.
After moving back to California from the East Coast in 2006 my love for cycling was rekindled. Now I commute by bike to work nearly every day, I ride on the weekends and occasionally compete in "Cyclocross" events and 80-100 mile epic rides. I am passionate about cycling in its many forms, be it racing, commuting or recreation. I'm excited to introduce this sport to a new generation and their energy and excitement is contagious!
I truly believe that Cycling (road or mountain) is a sport that can have life-changing results. You can ride in any city, and ride offroad in some of the world's most beautiful places and it's a great way for a family to spend quality time together.
I look forward to working with you to make this team a success for our students!
